These works are metaphors of nature. When I look at the phenomena of nature I see layers, actually an infinite number of layers. From the infinitely small to the infinitely large nature is made up of stacked forms. The paintings are all abstract, as is nature and may include my own thoughts and images as part of the mix. Technically, they are painted on wood or masonite panels, start with deep carving followed up with acrylic paint and collage and finally cashew lacquer. They are made in sets of two that are meant to be complimentary in nature and are later mounted onto a frame.
